Bourgeois Touchstone D Vintage/TS
Drawing on Dana’s near half-century of lutherie experience, the Touchstone Series is designed to deliver legendary Bourgeois tone and build quality to a wider range of players than ever before.
To start, the Touchstone Series will consist of two models, the OM Vintage and the D Vintage, which both feature solid Alaskan Sitka spruce tops and solid Indian rosewood back and sides.
Bourgeois sends the already voiced tops in from America, after which the guitars are assembled in China by a select group of Eastman luthiers trained in Dana Bourgeois’ time honored building techniques. The guitars then go back to Lewiston, Maine for a final inspection and set up before shipping.
Strumming chords produces a clear voice and flatpicking single-note lines offers great balance. The guitar has the punch and volume you expect from a good dreadnought, and an excellent setup makes it fun to play.
Overall, the D Vintage/TS not only lives up to the anticipation of the collaboration between Bourgeois and Eastman, it represents a superb value in the mid-priced dreadnought field. Comes in a hardshell case with TFOA passport.
